Stephanie’s First Secchi Depth Reading at Lake Tahoe
A few weeks after arriving on the job in Lake Tahoe, Stephanie had her chance to have her first Secchi depth reading - it was 30m! She got used to some really clear water, working on Lake Baikal in Siberia, but even those waters were not so clear - usually at Baikal, a summer water clarity measurement might be about 21m. The water was calm and a small storm moved across the north side of the lake - it was a beautiful welcome. A few days earlier, a reporter from SF Gate was out on the lake with the TERC team and captured similarly beautiful conditions in this lovely story.
